ROOMZ launches further solution for Intelligent Offices
Fribourg, 01.07.2020 - ROOMZ has made a name for itself with the wireless display of the same name for meeting room management including sensor technology and integration of smart TVs. Now the former Swiss Tech-Startup launches a comprehensive solution for the intelligent management of new room and workplace concepts. The innovative functions also support companies in organizing their return to the office in accordance with COVID-19 in a secure and stress-free manner, for example to be able to pre-define the maximum capacities of buildings and control distance rules.
Our solution is based on sensor technology and intelligently connects rooms and workplaces for people who want to work efficiently
When ROOMZ launched the smart display in 2015, the start-up company heralded a new era in meeting room management. Using sensor technology, the innovative Swiss engineers have since developed the display into a comprehensive solution. This means that workstations, huddle rooms and other premises can now also be managed and monitored.
New room concepts demand new management solutions
The modern working world needs an intelligent control system of working environments, otherwise chaos is pre-programmed. ROOMZ founder and CEO Roger Meier confirms: "Technological developments, global networking and demographic influences have changed our work culture.

The solution consists of the proven display and a management software that can be easily integrated into an existing IT infrastructure - for example via Office 365 or Google Calendar. It forms the core between the booking system, displays and the desk and room sensors. Reservations can be made and cancelled in real time both on a display and via the booking software. In the case of meeting rooms, the room sensor uses a passive infrared motion detector to check the current occupancy and releases reserved but unoccupied meeting rooms or even huddle rooms after a predefined time. "This allows companies to avoid costly ghost meetings," explains Fabien Moine, Head of Marketing and Sales. "The solution now also allows workstations to be optimally administered and managed. Employees can book their workstations flexibly and efficiently via the booking system. Thanks to the integrated floor plan and the floor plan function, the use of space per floor or individual workstations can be displayed. Alternatively, the Desksensor can be used for management according to the
ROOMZ Analytics - clear signals and valuable analyses
Most users also use the possibility to publish room and workstation reservations on centrally placed info screens. Roger Meier about the additional added value: "As a valuable instrument of signalling, the visualisations increase employee satisfaction and visitor guidance. In addition, all occupancy data can be evaluated by building, floor and workstation. In general, the data provides valuable information about the productive use of rooms and workstations. ROOMZ Analytics is an important instrument for operative and strategic company management.
Organizing the return to the office after COVID easier
The above features also helped companies to organize their return to the office according to COVID-19 in a secure and stress-free manner. The maximum capacities of the buildings can be defined in advance and the employees can then use the tools of ROOMZ to pre-book their desk up to this maximum limit. The analysis data and visualizations allow to control and keep the distance rules. Facility Management also has access to important information and reports on when and where cleaning operations are required.
